By Janet Johnson

January 14, 2002

The annual School Report Cards and Profiles series of reports for the 2000-01 school year are scheduled to be released in May 2002. "We are pleased with the principals' response to the site survey and we are in the process of receiving data from other agencies in order to begin the initial stages of production," said Office of Accountability Executive Director, Robert Buswell.

The Office of Accountability collaborates with numerous organizations to provide more than 140 educational statistics on the 1,800 school sites across Oklahoma each year. The Department of Career and Technical Education, Office of Juvenile Affairs, The College Board, State Department of Education and Regents for Higher Education are a few of the participants. The Office of Accountability also works closely with administrators across the state to gather site-level information.

The Education Oversight Board is considering the inclusion of several new items on the reports. Reading sufficiency and student attendance statistics may be provided under the "Community Characteristics" sections of the School report Cards and Profiles: District Report. High school student performance results will also be expanded with results of the new end-of-instruction tests.

The Profiles series is the fulfillment of the reporting requirement of the Oklahoma Educational Indicators Program and is published by the Office of Accountability under the direction of the Education Oversight Board. Copies of the new reports will be available for viewing and printing on this website. Free paper copies can also be reserved by contacting the Office of Accountability at (405) 522-4578 or Email contact@ed-stats.state.ok.us
